OKCoin Pledges up to 1,000 BTC to Bitcoin Developers

Crypto enthusiasts can join OKCoin's Let's Build Bitcoin Together! initiative and vote for their chosen projects until September 27 only.

US-based cryptocurrency exchange OKCoin will donate up to 1,000 BTC to developers of Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Bitcoin SV (BSV) projects.

As part of its latest initiative Let’s Build Bitcoin Together!, OKCoin invites crypto enthusiasts to visit its platform and vote for any of the three projects that they wish to receive a donation. Each vote cast on the OKCoin platform will send 0.02 BTC or the BCH and BSV equivalent to the chosen projects.

Bitcoin Core developers Jimmy Song, Luke Dashjr, Ben Whoosley, Michael Ford (fanquake), Sjors Provoost, and Jonas Schnell will share all donations for Bitcoin.

On another hand, Bitcoin ABC, BCHD, and Bitcoin Unlimited are the recipients of the Bitcoin Cash donations, while Bitcoin Association and CambrianSV for Bitcoin SV donations.

According to OKCoin, the Let’s Build Bitcoin Together! initiative aims to foster a united crypto community.

“Our objective here is not to have the projects compete against one another. Instead, we aim to attract all members of the communities to support the growth of each project. The reality is that we’re all one crypto community, all working toward a better overall ecosystem and a successful digital future.”

Recipients of the donations per project have shared their plans by which they will use the funds. Bitcoin Core developer Jimmy Song intends to sponsor more developers to train under his Programming Blockchain project.

Bitcoin Unlimited will further push for the adoption of Bitcoin to be used as an electronic cash. CambrianSV Founder and BSV developer Ella Qiang, meanwhile, will shoulder the program expenses of the developers and help them focus on creating and improving programs.

To vote, crypto enthusiasts must create an OKCoin account and pass KYC Level 2. Then they need to deposit a minimum of 100 USD or EUR into their OKCoin account, and deposit at least 100 USD worth of any of the digital assets accepted by the crypto exchange.

All qualified crypto enthusiasts can vote until September 27, 2019 at 9 p.m. PT only.
