Help Others with Crypto! These 5 Orgs Accept Digital Coins as Donations

A number of charitable organizations have started accepting cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) from contributors as donations.

Did you know that 77 percent of cryptocurrency owners want to donate using their digital coins?

That is according to a WeTrust-sponsored Pollfish survey released on November 29. The survey platform asked more than 1,000 coin holders about their stance on voluntary contribution in the form of cryptos.

Since this is the season of giving, why not use your cryptos for a good cause? Consider donating a part of your portfolio on these five charitable institutions to extend a helping hand to those in need this Christmas.

1| UNICEF

If your heart goes for children suffering in starving and war-torn countries, then UNICEF should be your go-to organization.

Originally created for children affected during World War II, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is now focused on providing better welfare for the young. UNICEF’s projects include child protection, feeding programs, and immunization, among others.

UNICEF New Zealand will be delighted to receive your crypto donations. This organization accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC).

Make a pledge by going to UNICEF NZ’s website.

2| Internet Archive

As hinted by its name, the Internet Archive stores useful information, important works, and other kinds of media into a massive digital library that is accessible by everyone for free.

The site believes in internet freedom. That is why—together with it being a non-profit organization—the Internet Archive does not run advertisements on its site. However, it needs funds to continue its operations.

That is where you come in. To help the Internet Archive in archiving more information, you can donate in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Zcash (ZEC), and other altcoins here.

3| Wikimedia Foundation

The non-profit Wikimedia Foundation hosts a number of free-access sites that provide useful educational knowledge to their readers. These include encyclopedia site Wikipedia, digital library Wikibooks, online dictionary Wiktionary, and others.

Similar to the Internet Archive, there are no advertisements displayed on any of the many Wiki sites. And like the Internet Archive, the funding of the whole Wikimedia operations relies mostly on user contributions.

Donate to the Wikimedia Foundation with your Bitcoin here.

4| GiveCrypto

Undoubtedly, cryptos have brought several positive changes to the financial industry, the most important of which is bringing the power of controlling funds from traditional financial institutions like banks back to the people.

However, not everyone could purchase cryptos and enjoy their benefits because these people do not have access to or knowledge of digital tokens.

That is the problem GiveCrypto aims to solve. Your crypto donation—whether it is in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Zcash, or Ripple (XRP)—will reach the non-profit’s beneficiaries. They then can use these cryptos to either keep as investments or cash out for their daily needs, among other options.

To contribute, simply proceed to GiveCrypto’s website.

5| Blockchain Charity Foundation

If you want to donate in cryptos and to track where your contribution exactly goes, then visit Binance’s Blockchain Charity Foundation.

This foundation was organized to solve the lack of trust a number of contributors have in many charitable institutions. Thanks to blockchain technology, donors can follow where their crypto offerings made on BCF is used.

On the Binance Charity Wallet, donors can contribute their Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Binance Coin (BNB) to an all-purpose wallet. The Foundation then decides on which charitable project part of the Binance Charity Wallet fund would go to.

Visit the BCF site and add to the more than US$240,000 crypto donations already made.
