$2,500 Cash Prize Pool up for Grabs on Blockchain-Based WAX Stickers Contest

A cash prize pool worth a total of US$2,500 is at stake in an online contest involving virtual WAX Stickers.

Compared with the currently prevailing system in which developers have the ownership of stickers, WAX stickers are personalized digital assets where users own these stickers themselves. WAX stickers can be used on supported online video games and messaging applications, among others.

Users can create, buy, or sell WAX Stickers on WAX (Worldwide Asset Exchange), a blockchain-based platform where users can market virtual items.

On November 12, OPSkins.com offered up to US$1,000 as a reward for the most creative integration of WAX Stickers on a website. Interested participants simply need to add a feature on their own websites that highlights WAX Stickers in any way.

The contest announcement hinted that ingenuity would be an important factor in deciding the prize winners.

OPSkins.com is an online marketplace where gamers can purchase in-game merchandise and stickers from multiple titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS in exchange for WAX tokens (WAX). The founders of OPSkins were behind the birth of the WAX ecosystem.

The winner of OPSkins.com’s competition will take home US$1,000 and the second-placer gets US$500. Four runners-up, on the other hand, will receive US$250 each. The promo runs until November 15 only.

Meanwhile, the price of WAX tokens was rising recently on several exchanges and was one of the best performing cryptos on the market. On November 12, the digital token—with a market capacity of US$112 million—was trading at US$0.11971298 against the US dollar. This level was higher by 36 percent compared with last week’s price and was 87 percent more than last month’s.

WAX tokens can be traded on a number of crypto exchange platforms, including Bittrex, Upbit, and Huobi.
